Air Force micro aircraft overturns

Belgaum, Sep 18: Two people -- an Air Force wing Commander and a NCC cadet -- were injured when a microlite aircraft overturned while landing at Sambra airstrip on the outskirts of the city yesterday.

Official sources said Wing Commander N Kumar and cadet Prathibha escaped with minor injuries when the aircraft after landing did not halt at the designated spot, went on and fell on its side.

ASP S K Hegde said the aircraft, which took off at 1200 hrs, came back to the airdrome 30 minutes later. It overshot the runway for some distance and capsized.
