2 Jaish militants killed in North Kashmir

Two
militants
of
the
Pakistan-based
Jaish-e-Mohammad
(JEM)
were
killed
by
security
forces
in
a
fierce
encounter
in
north
Kashmir
early
today,
official
sources
said.
They said Special Operation Group (SOG) of the State police and 57 Rashtrya Rifles (RR) launched a joint operation at village Khyar, Bandipora, about 55 km from here in north Kashmir in the early hours today.
When the troops were about to storm a particular house, militants opened fire while trying to escape in a near by field.
Troops also retaliated and killed both the militants.
Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.
