Woman kills self after setting grandson on fire

Barrackpore, Sep 17 (UNI) A 48-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling after setting her 20-month-old grandson on fire tonight following a scuffle with her daughter-in-law at Malanchapara in North 24 Parganas.

The severely burnt child, however, was rushed by the neighbours to the R G Kar hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

Police recovered the body of Sikha Sarkar, which was hanging from the ceiling of her room.
