TRS MLAs and workers arrested for obstructing land auction

Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) Police today arrested Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) MLAs and activists, who tried to lay seige to Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) office, where officials were auctioning the Government lands.

Police said TRS MLAs N Narasimha Reddy and Padma Rao, along with party activists, were arrested when they tried to barge into the venue of auction. However, the officials auctioned the lands amid tight security after the arrest of the TRS leaders.

Earlier, Mr Reddy alleged that the Government was auctioning the lands and not distributing them to poor for housing and agriculture purpose.

The TRS would pitch flags in the Government lands to press demand for the distribution of lands among the poor, he added.
