Students union poll ban: SP to stage statewide agitation on Sep 25
Lucknow, Sep 17 (UNI) The Samajwadi Party (SP) today announced to stage a statewide agitation against Uttar Pradesh government's decision to ban students' union elections.
Addressing a press meet here, SP state general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav said the party would protest the Mayawati goverment's decision to ban the polls at all district headquarters.
Accusing the UP Police of being hand-in-glove with the BSP government, the SP leader observed that by lodging criminal cases against students protesting the decision, police is playing with their future.
