Health card to be provided to labourers - Modi

Patna, Sep 17 (UNI) With a view to improving the condition of the unorganised sector labourers of the state, the Bihar government was contemplating to provide health card to them apart from other coverages.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said here today that keeping the health condition of the labourers of the unorganised sector in view, the government was planning to provide them with health card.

He said the health card would be a useful tool for the labourers as they would get the best possible treatment in the government hospitals on showing the card.

He said the government would also recommend the Centre for providing pension to the unorganised sector labourers.

The government would also recommend the Centre for providing life as well as health insurance coverage to the section, he added.

'' The government is also planning to give the facility of maternity of leave to the female labourers of the unorganised sector, '' he added.

The government would impart specialised training to those labourers planning to migrate to foreign countries in connection with their livelihood, he informed.
