Devi Singh cremented on the bank of Narmada

Badwani, Sep17: Erstwhile Badwani royal family's former ruler Devi Singh, who died in Indore on Saturday at the age of 86, was cremated at Bhilkheda on the bank of Narmada river on September 16.

Mr Singh, who was the ruler from October 18, 1942 to May 31,1948, was ailing for a long time due to paralysis and he breathed his last at Indore on Saturday. The body, which was brought from Indore, was kept at the Sagar Vilas Rajmahal here for some time to enable the people to pay their respects to the former ruler. Later, the funeral procession was taken around the town. The traders kept their shutters down briefly to mourn his death.
