Brahmotsavams proceed with devotional fervour
Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 17 (UNI) Bestowing his blessings on devotees waiting for his darshan, the processional deity of Sri Malayappa Swamy, donning 'Narasimha Roopam,' stepped out of Vahana Mandapam on 'Simha Vahanam on the morning of the third day of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at the Sri Venkateswara Temple here today.
All four 'mada' streets were filled up with pilgrims and since there was only a drizzle, the devotees could witness the spectacle in peace.
According to mythology, Sri Mahavishnu came to the rescue of his young devotee Prahaladha in the form of 'Narasimha' (half lion and half man) by slaying Hiranyakashipu, the demon.
After 'Snapana Thirumanjanam' (celestial bath) to Sri Malayappa Swamy and his two consorts inside the temple complex in the afternoon, the 'Unjala Seva'' was performed in the evening.
