Manmohan Singh to return home on Sep 17

New Delhi, Sep 15: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who underwent surgery for a prostate problem at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here yesterday, is recovering well and expected to return home tomorrow.

''The Prime Minister is recovering well and expected to return home tomorrow,'' PMO sources said.

The Prime Minister had undergone a trans-urethral resection of the prostate gland to treat benign prostatic hypertrophy (enlargement) of the prostate gland. The surgery was performed by a team of doctors led by Prof NP Gupta, Head of the Department of Urology at AIIMS.

Last evening, doctors had said Dr Singh was doing well and had a stable post-operative course.
