One drowned while immersing Ganesha idol

Bangalore, Sep 16 (UNI) One person drowned in Ulsoor lake here while immersing a 'Ganesha' idol along with his friends after 'Ganesh Chaturthi' festival last night.

Police said the victim, 24-year-old Prabhakar, was in an inebriated condition and jumped into the water despite his friends cautioning him, when the accident occurred.

Though his friends succeeded in pulling him out, their efforts went in vain as he was already dead.

The body was sent to a hospital for post mortem.
