Militants attack patrol party, 2 ultras surrender in J&K
Srinagar, Sep 16 (UNI) Militants today attacked a security force patrol, while two ultras surrendered in the Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official spokesman said.
Militants attacked a security force patrol party with automatic weapons at Model Town, Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla early morning.
The security personnel effectively retaliated. However, no one was injured.
A militant surrendered before the security personnel and state police at Bandipora in north Kashmir alongwith a pistol, a magazine and six rounds of ammunition last evening.
A Hizbul Mujahideen ultra also surrendered before the security personnel and state police in Doda district of alongwith an AK rifle, two magazines, 60 rounds and a wireless set last evening.
The ultra was active in Marmat area of the district for the past several months, the spokesman said.
