Kumaraswamy indicates inclination to step down
Bangalore, Sep 16 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today indicated his inclination to step down and transfer of power to coalition partner BJP in the state.
Laying the foundation stone for various developmental projects at Tavarekere Hobli in Magadi taluk here, Mr Kumaraswamy said the various welfare schemes initiated by his government, during the last 20 months, would be carried forward by the next government after he steps down in October 2007.
Referring to Anganwadi workers' demand to increase their remuneration, Mr Kumaraswamy said the coalition government was aware of their contribution to the rural areas.
''Since I have to step down within next 15 days, I am hesitant to make any announcement on the Anganwadi workers' demand. However, I am certain that the next government will fulfill their demand,'' he added.
