Devotees throng Tirumala on second day of Brahmotsavam

Tirumala, Sep 16 (UNI) Festivities picked up on the second day of the Brahmotsavam here today, as processional deity Malayappa Swamy was taken out on the Chinna Sesha Vahanam.

Devotees lined up along four mada streets even before sunrise to witness the procession, which was taken out in the morning. With the temple elephants and horses leading the way and priests chanting vedic hymns, Tirumala reverberated with 'Mangala Vayidyams' and the beats of 'Udipi Melam', much to the delight of the devotees.

Earlier, the processional deity was taken to the Ranganayakula Mandapam where the priests conducted asthanam and made visesha samarpanam to the Lord.

Bedecked with gold ornaments studded with precious stones, the Lord in his 'mohana krishna' form presented an enchanting sight to the devotees.

In the evening, temple priest performed snapana tirumajanam to the processional deity of Lord Malayappaswamy, along with his consorts at Ranganayakula Mandapam inside Sri Vari temple, and performed unjal seva at Unjal Mandapam in front of the temple.

Later in the night, decorated with Tiru Abharanaalu, Lord Malayappa Swamy would be taken out in a procession through the four mada streets on 'hamsa vahanam' in the divine form of Goddess Saraswati.
