Congress functionary commits suicide due to domestic problem

Karur, Tamil Nadu, Sep 16 (UNI) A 43-year-old Congress functionary allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Punjaipugalur village near here today.

Police said the deceased M Kotraivel, General Secretary, Karur District Congress Committee took the extreme step due to domestic unrest and acute financial problem.

Mr Kotraivel is survived by his wife Nirmala, Councillor of Punjaipugalur town panchayat, a son and daughter, police added.
