Union Minister A Raja bereaved

Chennai, Sep 15 (UNI) Ms Chinnapillai, mother of Union Communication and Information Technology Minister A Raja died here this morning after a cardiac surgery.

She was 82. She is survived by eight children, including four sons. Mr Raja is the youngest in the family.

Ms Chinnapillai, who was admitted to a corporate hospital two days ago for a bypass surgery, died at 0930 hrs this morning, family sources said.

The body was being taken to her native village in Perambalur district and the cremation would take place tomorrow, the sources said.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who was away in Salem, telephoned Mr Raja and expressed his condolences.

UNI
