Agumbe receives 14 cms rain

Bangalore, Sep 15 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was vigorous over Interior Karnataka and active over Coastal Karnataka.

Agumbe recorded very heavy rainfall of 14 cms.

Other heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Jayapura 9; Sringeri. 8; Kota, Davanagere PTO 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Dharmasthala 6; Guttal, Kakkeri, Bhagamandala, Huliyurdurga 5 each; Mudibidre, Mani, Hubli, Shirahatti, Mundargi, Kampli, Chitradurga, Madikeri, Mysore 4 each; Panambur, Shirali, Honavar, Kuknoor, Chittapur, Sedam, Pavgada, Bangalore City 3 each; Banavasi, Karwar, Nargund, Jamakhandi, Dharwad, Gadag, Chikmagalur, K.R.Pet, Channapatna, B.Durga, Sira 2 each.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over the State.
