Vijay Sankeshwar bags Visvesvaraya Memorial Award

Bangalore, Sep 14 (UNI) Former BJP Member of Parliament and VRL Logistics Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Sankeshwar has been chosen for the ninth Visveswaraya Memorial Award for his contribution to the newspaper and transport industry.

The award was instituted by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) in 1999 to commemorate the birth anniversary of its illustrious founder Dr M Visveswaraya.

Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur would present the award to Mr Sankeshwar on 'Founder's Day' on September 17.

Some of the earlier awardees included Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy, Wipro chief Azim Premji, liquor baron Vijay Mallya, Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and noted heart surgeon Dr Devi Shetty.
