greeted
the
people
on
the
auspicious
occasion
of
Ganesh
Chaturthi,
the
festival
that
celebrates
the
birth
of
Lord
Ganesha,
the
remover
of
obstacles,
with
religious
fervour
and
enthusiasm
across
the
country.
In his greetings, Mr Hamid said, ''This festival celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha, who symbolises wisdom, prosperity and happiness.'' He said Lord Ganesha is invoked before any auspicious work begins and for removing obstacles on the path of spiritual and material success.
''Ganesh Chaturthi reminds us of the importance of imbibing the sublime and eternal values in our lives to usher in a humane society,'' said the message.
He also wished that ''this festival bring peace, prosperity and happiness in our lives.''
