Scada system to link plants with master control room

Bhopal, Sept 14 (UNI) With the lifting of ban by the Supreme Court on stay on work related to supply of Narmada water to the Madhya Pradesh capital, the process of execution of the proposed Narmada water supply project has gained momentum.

A work order to the concerned firm has been issued against tender worth Rs 274.40 crore approved earlier.

Besides, an advanced control and data acquisition system 'Scada System' was being designed for smooth functioning of Narmada water supply project. An amount of Rs 3.82 crore would be spent for establishment of this system, an official release said here today.

All the plants -- to be set up in about 70 km length pertaining to the Narmada water supply project -- would be linked with the computer through computer-enabled 'Scada System'.

Plants such as intake well, treatment plant, brake pressure tank, sump cum pump house - Ahmedpur, master balancing sump and the complete pipe line would be linked with the master control room with the help of internet under the most advanced automatic system.

This system would help taking stock of all activities of plants and scheme from the master control room to be established in Bhopal.

Permission to lay pipe line through Ratapani sanctuary was accorded by the Supreme Court recently, the release added.
