Rolta India Ltd gets land for IT Park in Bengal

Kolkata, Sep 14 (UNI) Rolta India Limited has formally taken possession of five acres of land for setting up an IT Park at Nonadanga in east Kolkata, alloted by the West Bengal Government, after having complied with all requisite formalities.

Rolta Group of Industries' Chairman cum Managing Director K K Singh and Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today signed the required documents in this regard.

With an investment of over Rs 2500 million, Rolta will now embark on setting up the proposed IT Park in the city in a phased manner.

The park will have facilities for delivery of information technology based GeoSpatial services, engineering design services, software development and ERP implementation services worldwide. Once completed this facility will provide employment opportunity to about 5000 technical professionals and domain experts from talents available in the state.

"We are happy to have finally got Rolta to invest in the state," said state IT Minister Dr Debesh das.

He said "for Rolta Kolkata is its first venture outside Mumbai and it means a lot to us. The Government has long been trying to get Rolta to invest here. Initially the Government had decided to accommodate Rolta in Salt Lake's sector V but now, Rolta is allotted land in Nonadanga", the minister said.

This facility being setup in Kolkata was a part of Rolta's expansion plans to grow manifold in the coming years, requiring additional infrastructure and talent pool, said Mr Singh, He said this new facility being setup for the first time outside Mumbai would help the company in meeting the growing demand for our services worldwide.

He also praised the chief minister and his government for having faith in the company, Mr Singh said.
