Ramsethu affidavit: FB says Cong lacks common sense
Lucknow, Sep 14 (UNI) Forward Block, a constitutent of the Left Front supporting the UPA government at the Centre, today criticised the Congress' handling of the Ramsethu issue, saying it lacked ''common sense''.
Party's supremo and general secretary Debbrata Biswas, MP, however, did not rule out the possibility of it being an effort by the Congress to dilute the Nuclear deal issue.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Biswas said the Congress has gone against the peoples' sentiment by refusing to accept Ram and Ramayana.
''Every Indian believes in Ram and 'Ramcharitramanas' and it was unfortunate that the Congress government tried to play with the sentiments of the common masses,'' he said.
Commenting on the withdrawal of the controversial affadavit in the Supreme Court on the Ramsethu issue, he claimed that the damage has been done and the party's image has become ''anti-people''.
