Navy's Mid Year Refit Review 2007 begins

Port Blair, Sep 14 (UNI) Mid Year Refit Review (MYRR)-2007 of ships and submarines of Eastern Naval Command (ENC) and Andaman&Nicobar Command (ANC) began here today.

The conference was being chaired by Vice Admiral DSP Varma, the Chief of Material.

This MYRR, first of its kind is being conducted at Port Blair, Captain M K Singh of Andaman and Nicobar Joint Defence Command told UNI here today.

Some thirtyfive outstation delegates and 15 delegates from Command, Local flotilla and Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Port Blair were attending the conference.

The Chief of Material had called on Air Marshal PP Rajkumar AVSM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command for the conference.

During the visit, he will also visit NSRY, Port Blair and FDN-1 the only Floating Dock in the Indian Navy, Mr Singh added.
