Lightning kills 2 WCL officials in Chandrapur

Nagpur, Sep 14 (UNI) Two officials of the public sector Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) were killed when they were struck by lightning in Chandrapur district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today.

The officials, identified as Area Manager S N Choube and Senior Under Manager R B Ambarkar, were killed on the spot when lightning struck them in a mine at Ballarpur, about 20 kilometres from Chandrapur, a WCL spokesman told UNI.

The two officers while carrying out stock inspection at Gouri-2 open cast mine when the tragedy occurred, the spokesman informed.
