HP High Court stays doctor's transfer to Kangra from IGMC

Shimla, Sep 14 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court today stayed the transfer of the head of the Orthopedics Department Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) to Tanda Medical College and Hospital.

The division bench of Chief Justice V K Gupta and Justice Rajeev Sharma issued a notice to the state government seeking reply on the transfer of the Dr Mukand Lal who prayed that his transfer be stayed as there was only one post in the Tanda Medical College, which is occupied by a Professor.

The court, in its order, stayed the transfer until the post is created at Tanda College or transfer orders were received from the state government.

Dr Mukund's transfer from the IGMC to Tanda would leave the department with no specialist.
