Jaipur, Sep 14 (UNI) The Rajasthan High Court today set side the Central Social Welfare Board's administrative order of appointment of officer incharge in the Rajasthan Social Welfare Board and upheld the notification of re-constitution of the board with Ms Saroj Kumari as the chairperson.

Hearing the petition filed by Ms Kumari against the posting of the officer incharge, Justice PS Asopa set aside the said order of August 20, 2007 for posting Ms Bhatnagar as officer in-charge.

The court also upheld the state government's notification of August 18 for re-nomination of Ms Kumari as the board's chairperson and nomination of 10 board members for the next three years.

The three-year term of Ms Kumari was due to expire on August 18,2007 and accordingly the state government had sent a proposal on July 18, 2007, for granting extension to Ms Kumari for a second successive term of three years along with a list of 10 board members.

On non receipt of response to the proposal the state government had again reminded the central board on August 6 and August 17 and finally issued notification on August 18, 2007 for reconstitution of the board.

However, on August 20, the central board had sent Ms Bhatnahgar to take charge as officer incharge. Ms Kumari had challeged the appointment of the officer in-charge in the high court through a petition on August 27 last.
