Haryana to observe Martyrs Day on Sep 23

Chandigarh, Sep 14 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to observe 'Haryana Veer and Shaheedi Diwas' (Warriors and Martyrs Day) on September 23 throughout the state.

Floral tributes would be paid to the freedom fighters and martyrs at district level on this occasion, said a government spokesperson.

Besides, seminars and public meetings would also be organised on the historic acts of the martyrs and freedom fighters of the state.

The family members of the martyrs, winners of the gallantry awards and war-widows would also be honoured on this occasion, he sid.

All the Deputy Commissioners had been directed to invite the freedom fighters and warriors of Kargil operation on this occasion, the spokesperson added.
