Haj pilgrims asked to get polio immunisation

Chandigarh, Sep 14 (UNI) The Haryana Haj Committe has directed the shortlisted Haj pilgrims to get themselves vaccinated against Polio as per guidelines of the Saudi Health Authorities.

A spokesman for the Haryana Haj Committee advised the pilgrims to administer themselves with Polio Vaccine in their respective Civil Surgeon offices and produce a certificate in this regard so as to facilitate Haj Committee of India to submit the same along with pilgrim passes in Saudi Embassy and Consulate for endorsement of Haj visa.

He said the certificate should be sent to Haj Committee of India, Mumbai directly or should be sent through State Haj Committee, Haryana within 15 days for endorsement of Haj Visa.

The health cards were being dispatched to all Civil Surgeons by the State Haj Committee for distribution among the shortlisted pilgrims.

The Haj Committee had also directed the Haj pilgrims to deposit a sum of Rs 12,000 towards the advance air fare favouring Haj Committee of India, Mumbai.
