Govt issues guidelines to woo investments for fabrication units

New Delhi, Sept 14 (UNI) The government today announced guidelines for operation of the special incentive package scheme to encourage investments for setting up semiconductor fabrication units in the country.

An investor will submit a proposal to the appraisal committee in the form appended to the guidelines along with the feasibility report with an application fee (non-refundable) of Rs 25,00,000.

The committee will, on the basis of the material and advice available on record, make appropriate recommendations to the Central Government.

Approval of the project under SIPS will vest with the government.

Investments made before the date of receipt of applications and investment in land made more than six months before the date of receipt of application will not be considered for calculation of capital expenditure.
