Former MP Vijay Sankeshwar bags Visvesvaraya Memorial Award

Bangalore, Sept 14 (UNI) Former BJP member of parliament and VRL Logistics Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Sankeshwar has been accorded the Ninth Visveswaraya Memorial Award instituted by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI).

The Award was in recognition of his contribution to the Newspaper and Transport industry.

Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur would present the Award to Mr Sankeshwar on 'Founder's Day' on September 17. The Award was instituted by the FKCCI in 1999 to commemorate the birthday of its illustrious founder Dr M Visveswaraya.

Some of the past Awardees included Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy, Wipro Chief Azeem Premji, Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, Biocon Chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and Noted Heart Surgeon Dr Devi Shetty.
