Chennai, Sep 14 (UNI) Thomson Scientific, part of the Thomson Corporation, today announced that Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has purchased its 'ISI Web of Knowledge' platform to substantiate their research excellence and knowledge domain.

Talking to newspersons here today, Thomson Scientific President and CEO Vin Caraher said ISI Web of Knowledge (WoK) was an integrated versatile research platform that delivers easy access to high quality, diversified scholarly information in science, social science, arts and humanities.

''We have worked very hard to establish our strong reputation in India for delivering high-quality solutions, today's announcement reiterated our dedication and commitment to support India's R and D growth endeavors,'' he said.

The platform provides users the ability to search the right content and find relevant information; whether the information was found in international journals, open access resources, books, patents, proceedings or Web sites, he added.

CSIR and its 10,000 scientists across 45 labs in India would now have easy access to cross-search complementary resources, enhancing more precise and meaningful research in the country, Mr Caraher said.
