Pushpak trainee plane crashes in Punjab

Patiala, Sep 13: A Pushpak training airplane crashed at the Patiala Aviation Club airport here today, official sources said.

The trainee pilot however had a narrow escape as he managed to wriggle out of the aircraft after it had caught fire on the runway.

According to sources a tyre of the aircraft burst after it had landed. The plane lost its balance and crashed on the runway and then caught fire.

However fire tenders at the aviation club rushed to the crash site and brought the flames under control.

The trainee pilot was on a solo flight.
