Pak Cabinet to re-elect Musharraf in uniform

The
Pakistan
Cabinet
has
unanimously
decided
to
re-elect
President
Pervez
Musharraf
in
uniform
from
the
present
assemblies.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, chairing the cabinet meeting, said that the schedule for the presidential election would be announced in two or three days.
Representatives of all government coalition partners present at the meeting agreed that Musharraf"s re-election was "essential for the country"s stability, security and growth".
The cabinet also reviewed the prices of essential goods and directed the authorities concerned to implement the Ramazan Package so goods are available at cheaper rates at utility stores.
Pakistan"s Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri briefed the cabinet on foreign policy and relations with other countries.
Aziz directed the foreign ministry to enhance coverage in Latin America and Africa, the Daily Times reported.
The cabinet also ratified MoUs/protocols signed by Pakistan with Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Argentina, Mexico, Nepal, Chile, Yemen and other SAARC countries pertaining to cooperation in agriculture research, plant quarantine, livestock and fisheries.
The cabinet allowed the CAA and PIA to enter negotiations with the European Commission on air services agreements between Pakistan and members of the European Union.
