Committees for Yediyurappa as K'taka CM

Mysore, Sep 13: Former Union Minister and National General Secretary Ananthakumar said both the national and state executive committees of the party favoured Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for the post of Chief Minister of the state, as per the power transfer scheduled to be on October 3.

Addressing party workers on the eve of the City Corporation elections here, he said there were no differences among the party leaders in both state and national levels on elevating Mr Yediyurappa for the post of Chief Minister of the state. Even the power transfer in the state would be held smoothly and there was no doubt in it, he added.

Referring to the Indo-US nuclear deal, he alleged that both the UPA and Left parties were trying to create some doubts among the people of the country.

He opined that any time parliament election would be held and asked the party workers to be prepared for that.

Speaking on the occassion, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa asked the party workers to capture the Mysore City Corporation.

''Next Dasara festivities will be held under the BJP Mayorship,'' he predicted.

On criticism from JD(S) Supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, he said it was quite natural that all parties were criticising the opponent parties and he would not react to their statements.
