Boat owners lock up Exec Engineer's office

Puducherry, Sep 13 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the port area here as members of the Mechanised Boat Owners Association today locked up the office of the Executive Engineer, Port Works.

The Association members earlier picketed the port office, demanding immediate dredging in the sea mouth as it hampered movement of their boats into the sea from the new port. They later entered the office, picked up an argument with the employees and subsequently locked them up in the office.

On information, police rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
