(White House) Russian politics an internal matter

Washington, Sep 12 (Reuters) The resignation of Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov was an internal Russian matter and the US government hopes to continue good relations with Moscow, the White House said today.

''This is a matter for the people of Russia to decide their future leaders,'' White House National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said. ''The United States looks forward to continuing its good relations with the Russian government.'' REUTERS SGHT1940
