Rape convict sentenced seven years RI

Rourkela, Sep 12 (UNI) Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rourkela, today convicted one Gouranga Das and sentenced him to seven -year rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5000 for raping a minor girl.

According to the prosecution, a 14-year-old girl was dragged by the accused to his house on the night of June 30,2005 and raped.

The mother of the girl, suspecting some foul play, entered the accused's house and got hold of the culprit The accused was arrested after the matter was reported to Mahila police station by the victim's mother.
