Nikkei opens 0.6 pc higher, led by exporters

Tokyo, Sep 12: Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.6 percent on Wednesday led by exporters such as Canon Inc and Toyota Motor Corp as they were buoyed by softer yen.

As of 0001 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei was up 101.11 points at 15,978.78. The broader TOPIX index gained 0.6 percent or 9.06 points to 1,541.45.
