Mantralaya Security Officer removed

Bhopal, Sep 12 (UNI) Mantralaya Security Officer Mrs Priyanka Mishra has been removed in the wake of a major security lapse when gunshots were fired during an employees' rally in front of the state secretariat, killing one person and injuring four a fortnight ago, official sources said today.

Mrs Mishra has been posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police in the police headquarters, an official release said.

Meanwhile, the city's Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Varma has also been appointed in PHq as Assistant Inspector General (Special Branch).

A faction of Class Three Government Employees Association (Kailasia group) took out a rally near Mantralaya following a court order in their favour and the private security guard employed by a Class Three employee leader fired gun shots in celebration, but hit members of the music band in the rally. Three people had been arrested in this regard.
