Linksys' commitment to the Indian market

Sep12: Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems, Inc., and the recognized leading global manufacturer of home and small businesses network equipments, announced today the launch of its first wireless broadband router customized for Indian home users – Wireless-G Home Router (WRH54G). Its launch will supremely promote the popularization and development of wireless broadband network in Indian homes and further showcase Linksys commitment to the Indian market.

Its uniqueness is reflected when comes to intellegent dual-antenna design i.e WWRH54, which enables the better wireless performances.The router"s full range and its attractive pricing helps the the local users in building up a wireless broadband network. In addition to the high transmission speed of 54Mbps* and other basic function, the WRH54G offers customers with customized features that highlight its “Made for India" label:

• Equipped with Friendly Controls of Internet Access, the WRH54G supports On- Demand and Time-based access control for better management of internet access. This function designed to help ensure that Indian consumers are able to monitor and control usage of broadband facility and economize accordingly as most of the users are still on time or volume based service plan.

• WRH54G is designed to have a Flexible Wireless Radio Control, built in with on/off Control Scheduler to support multiple scheduling, and helping to safeguard home wireles access. Users can select the start/stop or adjust the wireless signal.

• Equipped with a build-in web based setup wizard which helps users to setup the WRH54G easily and quickly.

As an integrated wireless broadband network solution for consumers, the WRH54G is a Wireless Access Point, designed to interface with standard Wireless-G (802.11g) and Wireless-B (802.11b) equipments. There is also an internal 4-port full duplex 10/100 Ethernet switch, which is capable to connect more wire-based Ethernet network equipments or to cascade with switch and expand into more switch ports.

In addition, through its all-in-one function, the WRH54G is designed to enable the entire customer networks to share single high-speed wire-based network or DSL for Internet access. The WRH54G also has security measures in place to help ensure a secure connection. It supports 128-bit industrial-strength encryption to help protect data and privacy. Enabling the security features is easy with the Linksys Web browser-based configuration utility.
