Abandoned bucket at airport entry point creates flutter

Chennai, Sep 12 (UNI) A small unclaimed bucket with a lid at the entry point of the city airport created a flutter among officials here today.

Airport sources said the bucket was found abandoned near the vehicle check area near the entry point at around 0900 hrs.

Suspecting that it might contain bombs, officials alerted the airport bomb detection squad personnel.

They cordoned off the area and on opening the bucket they found it was filled with dates.

Security has been tightened in and around the airport area and passengers were allowed in after stringent security norms in the wake of recent twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad and Central intelligence officials sounding an alert across the country of possible terror attacks.
