Students go on rampage in Allahabad

Allahabad, Sept 9: Security has been tightened in Allahabad city today a day after students went on rampage and torched buses to protest a ban on university elections.

The state chief Mayawati said the move was to improve the educational atmosphere on campuses, as elections disrupt the academic atmosphere in colleges. The state government of Uttar Pradesh on Friday ordered a ban on students' union elections in all state universities and colleges affiliated to them.
