SBIMF to launch campaign for customer base expansion
Kochi, Sep 11 (UNI) SBI Mutual Fund (SBIMF) will launch a campaign to spread the message of Mutual Fund (MF) investment to expand their customer base across the country.
Talking to newspersons here today, SBIMF Managing Director Syed Shahabuddin said the campaign would be launched next month on a pilot basis in 50 urban and as many rural centres in Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.
''Presently, there is a lot of enthusiasm and interest among the public to invest in MF and we want to spread the message to more people across the country,'' he added.
The campaign would cover 400 more centres across the country by the end of this financial year depending on the success of the initial campaign, he noted.
SBIMF, a wholly owned subsidiary of State Bank of India, had opened a call centre with toll-free number for the customers to lodge their complaints, he said.
''SBIMF is proud of its superlative customer service and it had opened more service centres in various parts of the country to provide prompt service,'' he said.
Exuding confidence in the MF sector, Mr Shahabuddin said the industry grew by around 80 per cent and the rate of growth would increase further.
He said SBIMF was the seventh largest fund house in the country with more than Rs 22,000 crore as Assets Under Management (AUM) and handling equity assets to the tune of Rs 16,000 crore.
The Company had 25 per cent market share with Rs 767 crore AUM in Kerala, he added.
