Retired engineer commits suicide in UP

Varanasi, Sep 11 (UNI) A retired engineer allegedly committed suicide here today by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in Lahartaara area of Uttar Pradesh.

Retired irrigation department engineer, O P Singh (70) hanged himself from a ceiling fan by using stole.

He was survived by three daughters Alka, Mamta and Anju.

Singh was ill for the past few months and could have taken the extreme step out of mental trauma, said Anju who was living with him.

Investigations were underway.
