Manorama Joshi gets social service award

Bhopal, Sep 11: Prominent social worker Mrs Manorama Joshi of Indore has been presented the Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia social service award, while Miss Anita Lodhi of Panna has been given the Rani Avantibai bravery award.

The state-level awards, each carrying Rs one lakh in cash, a shawl, coconut and memento, were presented by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at a function here yesterday.

Miss Anita, a class four student, has saved a girl from drowning, while Mrs Joshi has been engaged in social service activities for the welfare of women and children, official sources said.

The awards were instituted by the Women and Child Welfare department of the state government.
