India seeks Bulgaria help for India-EU bond
New Delhi, Sep 11: India today sought Bulgaria's cooperation in strengthening the India-EU strategic partnership.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath told visiting Bulgarian Minister for Economy and Energy Petar Dimitrov here that India has begun negotiations on a broad-based trade and investment agreement with the EU.
He congratulated Bulgaria on its accession to the EU.
''We look forward to your cooperation and support in strengthening the India-EU strategic partnership in all its manifestations,'' Mr Kamal Nath said.
The geo-political situation of Bulgaria offers new opportunities for Indian companies to invest in the country, he added.
Observing that there was a huge potential for enhancing bilateral trade which stood at 79 million dollars, the Minister said it needs to grow significantly.
