India must subtly support Musharraf: Swamy

Chennai, Sep 11: Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today opined that the present political situation in Pakistan calls for an indepth review of India's foreign policy on Pakistan. In a statement here, he said India should subtly and diplomatically support Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in his hour of crisis as India's national security would be gravely threatened if Gen Musharraf was ousted or deposed by elements of the army owing allegiance to the radical Islamic movement in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Claiming that Gen Musharraf had enabled Pakistan to enjoy unprecedented economic growth, he said India could not afford an unstable Pakistan at this juncture.
