Failure in exams drives teenager to commit suicide
Bangalore, Sep 11 (UNI) The increasing trend of teenagers committing suicide for trivial reasons in this city continued with a 15-year-old girl taking her life by hanging in her house here.
Vijayanagar police said Swetha had failed in two subjects in a class examination and her father, a garment factory worker, and mother had expressed their displeasure over the matter.
Unable to bear the humiliation, the teenager hanged herself to the ceiling fan in her first floor room using her 'duppata' last night.
Though the neighbours shifted the girl to a hospital she was declared brought dead, police added.
In a similar incident, three school girls in the same age group had committed suicide in the city last month as they were worried over separation as the wedding of one of the friends was fixed by her parents. Four classmates had entered into a suicide pact and consumed pesticide. While three of them died, the fourth survived as only little poison was left for her to drink.
