Delhi-Hisar highway blocked by Jat agitators
Hisar, Sep 11 (UNI) Jat protesters today came out on streets in Hansi town in the district against alleged anti-Jat utterances during a series of dalit protests in Haryana, over the murder of Balmiki youth Rakesh alias Lara in Gohana last month.
The agitators blocked the Hisar-Delhi national highway in Hansi for several hours and raised slogans against the state government for ''treating Lara like a martyr and giving his family assistance from the state exchequer.'' They said Lara's murder was the result of a gang war and to blame the Jat community for the crime was totally uncalled for and unjustified.
The agitators demanded action against those who had been making ''objectionable comments'' against the Jat community during the statewide dalit protests, including one such demonstration in Hansi.
They demanded that such people must be brought to book and arrested immediately.
