Central, state govt employees to strike work on Oct 30
Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Central and state government employees, teachers and workers of public sector undertakings will go on a nation-wide strike on October 30 to protest against the ''anti-employee'' policies of the Union and state governments.
Informing this to newspersons here today, struggle Committee of Central, state government, public sector employees, teachers and workers Andhra Pradesh unit Chairman V Gopal Reddy said the strike was called to demand withdrawal of the Pension Fund Bill, cancellation of appointment of pension fund managers, halt to downsizing of government departments, regularisation of casual and contingent employees and lifting of ban on recruitment.
A state-level conference would be held on September 13 to prepare the employees, teachers and workers for a protracted struggle against the ''neo-liberal'' economic policies of the successive Union and State Governments at the dictates of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, he said.
