Capt Bhatwadekar to undergo narco analysis test
Jammu, Sep 11 (UNI) Capt Chaitanya Bhatwadekar, husband of Capt Megha Razdan who was found dead at her official residence, is likely to undergo narco analysis test at Mumbai after police failed to get anything from him through the lie detector test, an official source today said.
''The husband of deceased Captain was put through Polygraph (Lie Detector) test, but nothing came out of that. Now investigators have planned to send him to Mumbai for narco analysis test,'' the source told UNI.
Capt Mega Razdan, 26, of Engineers Regiment was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a bedsheet in a room of her official residence at Kunjawani near here on July 1.
Earlier, it was alleged that the young army officer had taken the extreme step after ''harassment'' by her superiors in the unit. But the reported thumb marks on Capt Razdan's neck and stomach, injury marks on her left leg and blood stains on her stomach made investigators look beyond the suicide as cause of the officer's death.
''Police had smelt some foul play in this case. And the subsequent investigation had revealed some vital clues which strengthen the murder angle,'' source said, adding that the investigating agencies thereafter initiated working on the ''vital clues'' which fortify that she had been murdered.
Exactly one month after the death of Capt Razdan, her husband -- the main lead for investigating agencies in the death case -- was attacked by a group of three to four people near the army area of his posting.
There was reportedly an attempt to chop off his tongue, he was later shifted to the 166 Military Hospital at Satwari.
Capt Bhatwadekar -- deployed in the same regiment -- was subjected to series of questioning including Polygraph test, which failed to establish his criminal involvement in the incident.
''As there is no other lead with the police, Capt Bhatwadekar will again be put to further examination,'' the source added.
However, approval of the authority to put Capt Bhatwadekar to narco analysis test is awaited, the source informed.
